Year 6 Residential Trip May 2019

 Monday - travelling day!

We had a good journey down - the children kept the coach driver entertained with lots of songs! The crossing was very smooth and quick and the children enjoyed their lunch on board. We settled into our lovely accommodation and the children had to make their own beds which was amusing for the adults! One group then completed the low ropes whilst the other tried their hand at fencing. Dinner was chicken pie or sausages and mash, the plates emptied quickly! Tonight they have enjoyed a scrap heap challenge and cocoa before bed. WiFi is very limited so struggling to send photos through.

Tuesday - first activities day!

Today has been a very full day with both groups completing the obstacle course, 3G swing, playing aeroball, building cars from barrels and then driving buggies. A lot of children conquered fears and showed great teamwork. Dinner was burger and chips and doughnuts! There was not much sleep last night so early night for everyone including the adults!!

 Wednesday - conquering fears!

Today lots of people conquered their fear and jumped off the top of a telegraph pole! We have also learnt archery skills, built bottle rockets that really flew, used giant meccano to build different structures and dominated in laser tag. After a hearty meal of lasagne, we are off to a campfire and then bed! Everyone is having lots of fun but looking forward to seeing all their family on Friday. By Isaac and Eva

Thursday - big excitement!

Today has been about swimming, bush craft and the zip wire! The children learnt to make fires using flints and then keep them burning, building shelters - some more successful than others!! The zip wire was very popular and lots of children overcame their fear of heights to make the leap off the platform. Tonight we have spent sometime on the beach, building sandcastles and playing games. We hope to have a go at Jacobs ladder and the nightline before heading home tomorrow.
