Sarah BettisonChair of Governors
I have been a Co-opted Governor since 2016, but involved with Rotherfield Primary School since 2012 when we moved into the area and my two daughters attended. Both are now at secondary school in Kent, where we live.
My career has been in IT for the last 20 years but, at the beginning of my working life, I was a primary school teacher for a few years. I have retained a strong interest in education and especially SEND.
I have been a governor for our school since 2017, initially as a parent governor with two children at Rotherfield Primary.
I am passionate about improving education for all pupils, with particular interests in Pupil Premium and curriculum development. I have worked in various educational roles, including as a teacher and school leader for 20 years, more recently focusing on teacher development for the Kent region in my work as Director of the Kent Teaching School Hub.
I have been a Co-opted governor since 2019. I have lived in the area for about 30 years and have two grown-up children.
I have many years of experience in education with a particular interest in Early Years. I retired recently and am keen to use my knowledge to support the school and excellent team we have here in Rotherfield.
